Hi

If the work is hard manual maybe you could ask for lighter duties?? How big is the company does it have an HR dept ?? normally companies have policies on Light duties .

Regards

Hi Forest1972,

Are you a member of a Union, as they would be a good start. If not, speak to your doctor and see if they can help in any way.

Best wishes.

What about a MD note?

Hi, your GP should be able to give you a Fit for Work note which can specify light / amended duties, phased return, reduced hours etc. I am not sure however how much notice an employer has to take of it. If you work for a large organisation, they may have employee assistance or refer you for OT assessment or similar. Or as mentioned in earlier replies HR and a union.

Did you have a back to work interview before going back ?

Obviously depending on size of company they should be giving you a fazed return to work where you gradually build up your hours over an agreed period of time with regular assessments if you have a union or Human Resources contact them and explain your situation

Problem with shift managers they have targets to meet ( I know I was one )
