Everybody is different and everybody's heart condition is different. Occasionally one or more bypasses may fail. You need to take your doctor's advice and ring the ward. If pain gets intense and/or pain spreads to arm/neck/jaw then ring 999 immediately! Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I had a bypass a year ago and told by the ward to get in touch with them if I had any problems. Although I didn’t have chest pains I had a few concerns regarding my leg and chest wounds and they saw me immediately several times in the following weeks.

Admittedly I was with a specific cardiac hospital but I think the hospital is definitely your best option.

I hope all goes well.

What the others say sounds the right way forward if only for reassurance.

Hi Forest, are you doing more now that you are 12 weeks in? I know after mine at about 12 weeks I started to feel human and was doing more things around the house. This may cause some discomfort, but of course seek help from your cardiac team if you are at all unsure. Take care of yourself x
