After reading a lot of posts about angina. I always thought that it’s mainly in the chest you get pain am I wrong then. Nhs website says you can get pain in back. Arms neck. Which radiates from chest. Have you got to get pain in chest first then back. Just asking as I am abit confused. Since last year been getting a muscular pain around shoulder blades but no chest pain. Could this be angina related I am thinking CFS chronic fatigue syndrome among other symptoms this pain is not there all the time comes and goes. If I carry something heavy I feel it abit or walking the fibration sometimes I could be barking up the wrong tree here altogether

Angina
I'm not an expert by any means but my husbands heart attack started with a pain in his shoulder and after bout 24hrs radiated to his arm and then across his chest. My guess is, angina is a heart pain, so yes it could start in areas other then the chest, whether or not you would expect it to spread I don't know. My understanding is if it's angina then you need to use your gtn spray to open the arteries and this will relieve the pain, would the pain go without the spray? I don't know. Sorry, not sure how much help this is to you, maybe speak to the BHF nurses for advice. Interesting question though, would like to know the answer.
Hi Tinker2015
I do live with Angina and I have central chestpain, pain just below my left collar bone and in my upper left back near my shoulder blade.
Pain in my arms, neck, jaw and lower ribs near my stomach.
A friend, who has just been diagnosed by a cardiologist with angina gets a feeling of pressure and pain in her left arm.
Hi Tinker2015, I have just been diagnosed with angina. Crushing pain in the centre of my chest, breathlessness and sometimes radiating to my arms and legs. After an attack I feel like I have been run over by a steamroller. The first symptoms were pains in my legs which I had for a couple of months and they are looking at pulmonary artery disease too.
I guess everyone is different, if you are worried, see a doctor, they will send you for tests. Don't try and brave it out, it could be a bug mistake.
Best wishes.
Hi Tinker2015
I am no way an expert, but I have angina pain in my back, arms, jaw, ribs, neck and chest. My GP suggests that if GTN spray or tablets relieve it, then it's probably microvascular.
When I was disgnosed it was from a few episodes of chest pain, since then I only seem to get it in the top left shoulder blade!
