It would have been considerate of the consultant to have explained to you why he/she was taking you off Bisoprolol rather than just sending a note along to the heart nurse - but you can ask the heart nurse for more information and I hope that you do. The cardiac nurse will be able to answer all your questions. If not, see if you can book a ten minute consult with your GP (I call it 'booking a tenner' and you'd be surprised at how much information and guidance a short ten minute consult can provide).
Generally (I'm not medically trained), Bisoprolol is meant to slow heart beats and lower blood pressure - you write you have CHF, and low BP, so that might be why your consultant feels you can stop taking it. But again - I'm not medically trained and only the professionals will know why the meds change has been made.
I was recently taken off Bisoprolol because my blood pressure was generally too low, and went silly low at certain times. He thought it might be contributing to pain and tiredness. It hasn’t helped, plus I’m less good at judging when I’m doing too much now.
