Low HR on bisoprolol

I have written a similar post before about low HR on bisoprolol 1.25 so apologies but it's now gone lower. It is often 49 at rest due n the settee and 44/45 overnight. Resting HR is currently 52. So tired. Been on since May for some tachycardia and cardiologist who put me on it has discharged me. I emailed his private secretary a month ago and heard nothing. Rang NHS cardiologist receptionist and told I have been discharged. (I saw him privately and under NHS) My GP is on holiday for month of August and I don't rate his advice as he took me off propanalol 10mg and I got palpitations and withdrawal symptoms. I don't know what to do? Do people think this is ok? I sometimes feel abit dizzy on standing. I'm just so tired all the time, everything is 10x harder than it used to be. BP at home is about 110/69. I check HR with fit bit and also home bp machine. Thanks.

Yes happy to see consultant again privately. First appointment isn't til September now as he is on holiday. He suggested previously I could change to carvedilol but I don't want to be on any as there is supposed to be nothing wrong with my heart. Just wish my body would understand this and let me do stuff like exercise again 🙂

Hi

I'm on 7.5mg and mine is 45 over night and 50 at rest , I take mine about 7am and work about 7 hours a day as a gardener ,I get tired about 4pm , I'm hoping I can drop my dose when I take my recorded results to the Docs next time I have a review :).

Hi Mollypet

I was on 1.25 Bisoprolol for SVT but my heart rate dropped too low causing me to pass out. On one occasion the paramedics recorded it as low as 25 when they arrived. I was told it’s more difficult to raise a patient’s heart rate than it is to lower it. My beta blockers were changed but each one dropped my heart rate too low. I had an ablation for SVT 5 months ago and my heart rate has been much more stable since then. It is definitely worth talking to your GP about trying a different beta blocker. Taking even a small dose of Bisoprolol made me feel like I was constantly wading through treacle.

Good luck and take care 😊
