It is amazing how fast results can come through when you put Duty of Care/failure/Solicitor in the same sentence.... two days and they will be with my GP...... The emergency treatment is fantastic when you are flying through the streets towards a hospital but the discharge treatment is abysmal...... you get thrown out of hospital with nothing but tablets if you haven’t had an operation and absolutely no support. This site has been my saviour..... Now let’s see what they are going to do about my LBBB/LVSD and a hole in my heart+Anteroseptal Infact - age undetermined.

Hi Brandibell

Have you raised your concerns of lack of follow up with the PALS of your local hospital?

Have you discussed the issue with your GP too?

Hi, I discussed it with my new GP who I have met twice. His response was there are lots of patients waiting for results you are not the only one.... yes I know change my GP. That is the issue my GP retired whilst all this has happened back in April so I am getting to grips with two new strange doctors... and up to now I am not impressed. When brunch comes to shove I don't want a GP reading of a screen my results I want it out of the horses mouth who specialises in this area. Cardiologists are ghosts unless you have been operated on....apologises for the rant....x

Under the General data protection regulation act ( GDPR) as a patient we are entitled to have a copy of our medical notes and test results on request without charge.

I think it is within 30days.

I suggest you contact PALS and ask for the relevant form along with a where are my results and a please my I discuss the results with the relevant healthcare professional?

Whenever I don't receive a response from my Cardiologist's medical secretary who frequently likes to ignore patient legitimately made requests I contact PALS and hey presto my blood results etc arrive promptly.

I have had plenty of practice. I am 7 years into my heart patient career.

Thank you very much for this advice you sound like a Pro... 😁I will ask my GP for a copy of my results on Monday and if he refuses whichbi don't think he will I will then contact Pals. I was treated 20 miles from home at a strange hospital and I have two check up appointments one for this November at a Hospital near me with a new cardiologist and one at the 20 mile away hosp next May 2020 with the cardilogist i am with now but never met... The communication is terrible..

I have to agree when I was admitted from A&E I had a CT scan and was told that besides the tumour they could see in my heart I had a large cyst on one of my ovaries, my doctor is still waiting for that report 3 months after! It is such a shame when after such good treatment. The administration lets the NHS down badly. 😬

It is Just one answer machine after another with the cardiology clinics. The Big boys are on holiday so appts cancelled.

We are fairly lucky with our local district hospital, everyone in the Cardiology dept is very helpful, yep there are long waits for an appt but getting through to secretaries or appts usually brings speedier results. On the other hand the 2 biggest hospitals in Somerset are appalling, no appts, no follow up, letters not being sent, my referral to the EP sat on his secretary's computer for a month without even being read !!! One call to my Cardio at local hospital and it's sorted !

So tiring having to constantly chase everything 😞

You said it, the Secretaries won't hand out any information although one did admit they were behind due to lack of staff and funding.... not good enough as some patients are then starting to suffer with MH issues due to waiting...which consequently puts more pressure on the service as we all know the lack of funding for that...
