I had what my cardiologist called a type II heart attack May last year. My heart was starved of oxygen and as a result my troponin level was over 500.
Despite this after various tests my heart showed that I suffered no damage, I have low cholesterol (under 3) and my arteries showed no signs of blockages.
I'm a non smoker and don't really drink apart from the odd celebratory glass of prosecco, even then I may only have a few sips as alchol tends to trigger my SVT which I've suffered from since last year.
I've recently had a cocktail of medication to sort out my high blood pressure and am now on 10mg Ramipril, 80mg Verapamil (which is to control SVT) and 1mg Doxazosin. This has helped lower my blood pressure however I'm now very aware of a very low resting heart rate, lowest it has been is 38 bpm. It averages about 43. I mentioned this at my last cardiologist appointment but they were more interested in my blood pressure.
I wear a fitbit so have a daily log of the ups and downs of my heart rate.
During the night when it drops really low it wakes me up and I find I'm covered in sweat all around my neck and chest. I'm extremely tired in the morning when I wake up, and I rarely feel like I've had any sleep although I have.
Generally I feel fit and healthy apart from the tiredness and can comfortably manage a five mile walk. Is the low heart rate together with the SVT something I should be concerned about?
When I was in hospital last year for 11 days they monitored me every day and said I had bradycardia but back then it never went any lower than 48bpm. Should I be concerned or am I overthinking this?
