HIGH INR Increased INR since 2 weeks although warfarin dosage changed. Today INR is 4.9 which is certainly high. Hope not life threatening. Anyone capable to advise. Feeling depressed and get tired and fatigued. Dizziness is disturbing . Not much of interest in eating regular meals.

Warfarin is affected by diet and although some people remain stable with little effort if you are not eating regularly it will be difficult. Have you reduced your intake of greens? 4.9 is higher than ideal but shouldn't cause problems though be a bit careful re cuts and falls. When do you have to have another test? In the meantime add a few more greens if you can bear it. I see you'll have been on warfarin for 2 years but over time you learn what keeps you on an even keel. Of course change in meds can affect INR too. Was nurse at clinic concerned?

Firstly, be reassured: 4.9 is not particularly high and nothing to be alarmed at. I have had 4.9 or higher many times, and it usually self regulates without doing anything.

You mention that you are not really interested in eating regular meals. Hmm. That is an important factor. A few years ago my INR shot up, and it was a time when I had minor stomach problems, and I was, effectively, semi-fasting.
