Fatigue 9 months later

Feeling really rough last year this time and eventually pacemaker fitted September due to Bradycardia and sick sinus. Have made considerable progress but would still like to be more fit to do gym and swimming as I used to. Currently swimming x 2 weekly but sluggish most times. I am puzzled ( 9 months on) to still feel constant fatigue so that I cannot avoid a sleep in the afternoon even when I get 7 hours sleep at night. And annoying as also I cannot get myself out in the evening due to tiredness. I know I am 71 but I have previously been very active.

Hi I had a nstemi over a year ago. And despite daily exercise and bring v active am exhausted by 6pm.

It is very annoying the tiredness - I’ve been told to listen to my body and rest when needed. This is easier said than done. I find the dilemma of my health post heart attack confusing. Everyone saying you’re fine get on with life yet struggle with exhaustion and different twinges etc constant reminder that I’m ‘not ok’ !!

Thank you for your thoughts. It is hard to get rid on with life when you don’t exactly understand the details of the constraints. And it is frustrating and hard to find the person who can explain or give tips. Would a particular physio help I wonder?

I would check out your meds first to see what you are on and strength to know how much they are adding to fatigue, I found talking to my pharmacist really helpful with information as I had the same problem during my first 2 years, now able to stop most of the meds in my 3rd year and feeling much better, but to be honest as much as age does creep up I have had the same conversation with various doc's for them to say it is unexplained where most people after a heart attack or CA never seem to regain what they had so as frustrating it is we do the best and thankful to still be here, good luck and keep it going.

Thanks, yes I have had meds checked and blood tests done. I will try a pharmacist. ‘Unexplained’ is frustrating.

But yes I need to be grateful for an improved situation. I am not good with having limitations, although of course they are small compared to other people’s situations.

I had a pm fitted a year ago and I feel worse now than I did before I had the op. I had more energy and didn’t feel this terrible tiredness that I do now. I’m not on any meds, my problem before pm was heart block.

Oh no, how difficult for you. Similarly I was very active before all of this. Have you been told that it is to be expected with heart block? I wonder if like me the current situation is to do with the original diagnosis- mine was sick sinus syndrome.
