Statins are well known for causing this side effect in ‘some’ people.

I would suggest you speak to your GP and ask to try a different statin.

Hi - sounds exactly like my husband's symptoms while on statins and in his case these got progressively worse. He is now on alternative medication for familial hyperlipidemia and the symptoms disappeared. Do discuss options with your GP- statins are great for some people but for others they ruin your life. Best of luck

I had as I have just discovered a bad reaction to Atorvastatin. Was on usual blanket of meds, a couple of weeks ago I discussed the symptoms with my cardiologist who reduced me from 80mg to 20mg. Tried cutting the tabs but had stomach issues. So after two days stopped awaiting my new 20mg prescription. Suddenly most of the symptoms had begun to fade. No more muscle pain in my thoughts and calves, no more joint pain, and best of all my urine went from a dirty brown to a healthy clear as I drink 2l a day. I’ve since talked to my GP who has said stay off a month then go back again and try the lower dose. If I experience any symptoms then go back to him and he will look at something different

I’m on Rosuvastatin and I’m okay except I’ve noticed I have some hives I think from the statin but no aches and pains. I am only on 5mg and been on it for 5 years.

Interesting, I also had hives in all body, and started tracking the reason, maybe allergy, but will find out.
