I had a heart attack nearly 2 years ago at the grand old age of 43. I had always planned to retire to the coast. My HA has made me take stock of my life and live for the present rather than the future. Next week I move to Fairlie next to Largs in Scotland. I still attend a phase 4 cardiac rehab class in Glasgow and wonder if anyone knows if these exist in north ayrshire?

Sorry am on NE coast of Scotland so can't help there. Beautiful peaceful part of the country you have moved to. I would suggest getting in touch with a local hospital with a good Cardiac reputation they will be able to give you some good advice or your local GP should be a good start too - good luck

Can’t help with your question, but as we are the same age at HA & have the same idea about life I wanted to wish you good luck.

I’m moving next week from Oxfordshire to near Southport as I want a slower life & also to be in a place which has more opportunity to explore & just ‘breath’.

So good luck & I hope it all works out.

If there are any gyms near your new home, it may be worth asking them about Phase IV. If they don't know what you're talking about, they probably can't help! Good luck with the move and your new life xx

Wales is on my list ... cheaper I guess increases the chances to clear mortgages and enjoy living more..

That was a big factor for myself as well. I've extended the length of the mortgage to keep payments low but the amount would still be cleared off if I managed to get early retirement in say 10 years. Just wanted to live for just now as no one knows what is round the corner. Best of luck Matt
