Can anyone help us understand a letter from Cardiology about my husband’s latest Echo results please. It says that “The left ventricular systolic function was estimated at around 40-45%. Overall the left ventricular function seems to have improved compared to the previous Echo when Ejection Fraction was estimated at around 25%”
Does this mean his EF has improved from 25% to 40-45% or are they different measures?
Thank you.

Thank you Lezzers, that was a quick reply, thank you. He isn’t on Entresto. The big change for him has been getting Early Ill Health Retirement and leaving the work stress behind for good. He has Dilated Cardiomyopathy and his Aortic Valve was replaced in January 2018 but the Echo a few months after that showed his EF at 25%. I’m so pleased he’s improved to this extent and pray that it lasts.
Ha, I'm currently sitting in Leeds railway station with nothing better to do but trawl the Internet!! Glad to hear he's going so well. It also helps others to know that their condition can improve. I hope he continues to do so well xx
Similar to my improvement (DCM/LVSD/HF) after 3 months on amiodarone and long-term sick leave. Not happy on long-term amiodarone so my preference was a pace and ablate. I feel so much better.
My employer not offering any help to retire early so planning to simply leave. No need for stress
