Feeling lightheaded

Hi all... had some really positive days and feel as though things are starting to settle. However yesterday standing and talking with a neighbour I suddenly felt very light headed and close to fainting, I sat down and drank water and it seemed to subside. However shortly afterwards the feeling came back. I carried on drinking water, but for the remainder of the day did not feel completely confident that my legs would hold me up! Now this morning it seems to have returned again, but I’m sitting down. Btw had a stemi HA in August. Circumflex blocked and subsequently stented. Subsequent stented the RCA in March this year, noted disease in the LAD as well. On usual Asprin; Ticagrelor; Ramipril; atorvastatin; Lansoprazole. Noticed recently that heart rate has been dropping to 44/46 at rest and last BP was 104/72. Usually 54/56 and 120/70. Any thoughts ?

No beta blocker ... drinking water and eating ok (fruit & Oats for brekky this morning!) Wow only in 1994!! You’ve done amazingly well ... for a man !! 😉😂

“Fitness freak” nearly fell off my armchair from laughing !! 😂😂😂. Ramipril is only 1.25 in the evening. Will monitor and see how things go, if no improvement will see GP . How’s you ???

That's exactly what happened to me a couple of weeks ago! I spent 5 days in bed as I was too giddy every time I got up! GP has reduced by half my statin and isosorbide mononitrate (under protest) but wouldn't reduce beta blocker - don't know why! I have been going to cardiac rehab for over 2 years now - 3 times a week usually. I am losing weight and stress levels have reduced considerably as I'm nearly fully retired now (just go in to train my replacement). I think the lower stress levels have been the main factor in my BP reducing. Keep a note of your BP readings and resting heart rate (I have have mine on a basic fitbit) and go to your GP with any other life changes you may have.

Thanks ... am keeping a note of BP and heart rate. I’m seeing the Cardiologist in a few weeks time for a review and if things don’t improve will speak to him.

Oh no ! I thought from your last posts that you were finally getting answers. So what’s the plan now ?

have a look at eHealthME.

'Fainting is found among people who take rampiril, especially if you are Male, over 60, have AFIB/flutter and take aspirin.

in about 2% of the 73,028 people who reported side affects, (about 1,628 people) Fainting was identified as a side effect.

I have recently become one of this group, suffering a couple of slow and gentle fainting episodes, as in feel strange, lose all my colour, kneel down, fall over and recover almost instantaneously.

I have an appointment with my cardiologist in a few weeks time with a view to establishing what is going on, particularly as I only take warfarin and ramipiril. I have had an echocardiogram and I am looking forward to his opinion and hoping a conclusion can be reached as I do not wish to lose my driving licence.

Thank you ... I fail two of the qualifiers (not male and not over 60). Like you I have a review with the Cardiologist in a couple of weeks time. I am on the lowest dose of Ramipril 1.25 in the evening. It’s all a bit disconcerting and don’t feel hugely confident about driving and going out on my own at the moment. Be interested to hear what happens with you .
