Had a ct scan to check out my heart and discovered lung cancer. The good news is it`s slow growing and my arteries are clear." Curate`s egg, good in parts" !! Luckily I am an eternal optimist.

Heart and lungs
Oh dear. Life does give us a lot to deal with at times. Keep optimistic and take care.
Sorry to hear about the cancer and happy to hear about the heart. The good thing is some heart conditions can influence cancer treatment and you sound as if you are clear of these...
You're immensely brave to speak up.
I imagine this happens regularly, but most people are too crushed to share their experience. I know that suspicious lung shadows were identified during my heart scans, and nodules were removed from my lungs during my open heart surgery. None of this proved problematic, but the fact is that a byproduct of heart investigations is a far closer scrutiny of lungs than most people would otherwise receive.
I'm sure in your case there'll be a silver lining, in that this exceptionally early and fortuitous detection will deliver a happier outcome than might otherwise have been the case.
Fingers, toes, and everything else are all crossed for you Cowparsley!
My heart goes out to you. Keep thinking positive. I can tell you from experience it helps. Lots of hugs and kisses.
Best wishes cowparsley. Your brilliant positive attitude will help enormously.
Hi, sorry to hear that. This is what happened with my Colin, his heart scan showed a mass on his kidney, turned out to be cancer and nodules on his lung. He needed two stents, they did just one, then he had to wait three months to sort the kidney, they took it out along with the cancer 10 weeks ago. They said they are leaving the lung nodules till October to see if they have grown so he has just had Myoview scan to see if it is still necessary to give him his second stent. Apparently after heart operations they like to give the heart time to settle down before tackling another part of the body under anaesthetic , three months at least. Although it was nasty having the 3 heart attacks he would not have known about the other problems if he had not had his scan.
Good luck........x
You and Colin have been through so much.I`m so sorry.I do hope the tide has turned and things are improving. When I hear of others` problems mine don`t seem so bad.My very best wishes for the future to you and Colin.xx
Keep positive cowparsley! I had a similar diagnosis when I went in for spine surgery! The cancer found was at the very top of the lung and was the size of a grapefruit!
Inoperable I'm afraid but that was back in 2007 and I'm still here.
Sometimes things have a weird way of being discovered. Yours through heart tests and mine through neck x rays!
Best wishes to you xxx
Wow, did you have any treatment to shrink it. Keep fighting x
Hi Purpled.
I'd been in pain for years but the medical boffins reckoned it was referred pain from the spine. When the doctor came round after my 8 hour neck/spine operation, he told me they'd found a shadow on the pre op x ray. He was surprised when I told him where the shadow would be!!
I had 12 weeks chemo (8 hours every Friday) followed by a month of radiotherapy (every day!). The lump shrunk to a walnut size after chemo and hasn't really shown up much since! That was 12 years ago so as long as I can get up in the morning and put one foot in front of the other, I'm winning!!
Thanks for your earlier reply xxxx
Brilliant, glad you responded to treatment so well xx
When I read stories like yours Handel I feel a bit of a fraud! At present apart from my heart medication and inhalers I lead a very normal"healthy" life.Thank you for sharing your experience with us.xx
That is amazing! Mine`s only small and no treatment yet.I do so hope you confound medical science and receive a Birthday card from the Queen or perhaps King Charles.Best wishes Jen xx
I'm hoping to receive a telegram from King Archie! Can't see Harry and Meghan's son reaching the throne though.
I think it's a state of mind! I refused to have anti sickness meds after chemo and despite the shock of diagnosis (which resulted in me writing my last requests and how to switch the washing machine on for my husband, through floods of tears), I thought, sod it. I'm not giving in. I think a good mental state helps - mind over matter springs to mind.
I'm wishing you well too. Don't dwell on things too much. The advances in treatment are amazing! xxxx
That was a shock, just make sure they keep an eye on it. Wishing you well x
Thank you for you good wishes xx
