Well....... Believe I posted this before, but anyway: in 2014 I had a five way bypass with two new heart valves and I woke up dizzy after the heart surgery it still plagues me five years later. I would do almost anything within reason to get rid of this debilitating condition. Skip

Dizzy after heart surgery
Hey Skip, I do feel for you. I had a heart valve replaced 17 months ago and often get dizzy when I stand from a sitting position and feel lightheaded. I never had a problem with either before surgery. My doc thought it might be vertigo but the cardiologist says the likely cause is the beta blockers. I have learnt to live with it and exercise regularly. I hope things improve but I recommend you make an appointment to see your doctor.
Many thanks. Long 5 years story. I have been to at least 60 different health providers including doctors therapists acupuncturists neurologists you name it Nobody seems to have an answer, but my latest therapist seems to think I have an interview infection that I got from being on that operating table for such a long time. I have been seeing her once a week for two months with no break yet
Hello and welcome to the forum! Your surgery was five years ago. How many reviews have you had in that time including medication reviews? Checks should be carried out annually including as a minimum BP, cholesterol, LFT (liver function test) if on statins and because of your extensive surgery an ECG and echocardiogram. Medication needs reviewing as if tends to need adjustment over time - some GPs, sadly, just issue repeats!
