Hi, I am 27 years old and had open heart surgery 3 weeks ago to remove a large mass from my heart. Myxomas are rare and I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there whose been through it too.

Myxoma - heart tumour
Hello and welcome to the forum! I am sure this has been mentioned before. Hopefully, that person will happen along and be able to tell you more. As you have had open heart surgery the recovery process will be similar to those who have had bypass or valve surgery. Are you having any chemotherapy or radiotherapy as this would slow recovery. Hope things are going well!
Hi Nimms, my doctors think I have a myxoma in my right atrium or a very large clot. They are still deciding if I will have to go through surgery. How was yours? I hope your ok now, I agree there is very little information about myxoma and not many people I can talk to about the possible surgery ahead. I’m 24 and wasn’t expecting to have this
Yes, I had surgery three weeks ago to remove a Myxoma which I’m told what was the size of a cricket ball which filled the top right side of my atrium and was pushing through to the bottom chamber
Lucky to be alive 🙂
Suffering with rib pain, can you offer any advice I’m allergic to aspirin and codine so taking tramadol and paracetamol.
Hi,
Somehow when I deleted another site I deleted from this site too! I left the above comment regarding the removal of my Myxoma, how are you doing now?
Hello, I am 44 years old & I've just been diagnosed with this condition. Hope you are doing well, how did your surgery & recovery go?
