What’s keeping you awake. I assume you are on a statin taken before bedtime - if that’s the case you could try taking that in the morning or earlier in the evening (there is some anecdotal evidence that statins can cause sleep disturbance. I take my Atorvastatin around 7pm. If that doesn’t help go see your GP - you might get something that helps you get to sleep but they won’t give you a lot of the medication, just enough to get your body into the right sleeping cycle.

Not unusual, but suggest a review by your GP to check your thyroid function is normal. Occasionally the thyroid gland can misbehave following an op, and may be overlooked.

No harm in asking for sleeping tablets, providing it will only be a short course (a fortnight max) "break the cycle"

Did you sleep okay before the bypass?

Nine weeks post op most people seem to have got beyond just snatching sleep in two hour blocks. I appreciate everyone heels differently but just for reference, by eight weeks post op I wasn't sleeping as well as before but I was still getting at least five or six hours unbroken hours of sleep at a time, and I get the impression that's pretty typical.

Unless it resolves itself soon I'd mention it to your GP.

Good luck!
