A friend was in line for a single bypass ten years ago but full on OHS (stenting not an option) was felt to be extreme and a conservative approach was tried. Six months later he passed the test. Now after a decade a multiple bypass seems to be on the cards.
I personally am in favour of stress ECGs as they show up issues which resting ones do not. Another friend was declared fit after a resting one and suffered a heart attack two days later!
What was the conservative approach ? Was it EECP ?
Both examples mentioned by you looks to be extreme and these might be cases of non obstructive plaques which need to be seen in conjuction with other inflammatory conditions e.g CRP,Homocysteine,Tg/hdl ratio etc . In this post I am trying to gather some general data on obstructive plaques which cause 90% of death world wide
Slightly behind on my reading here. No the conservative approach was diet, exercise and medication (BP + statin). No sure if an angiogram has been done yet as an unrelated health issue cropped up.
