Atrial Flutter and atrial fibrillation

I'm a 38 year old female diagnosed last month. I was going to be sedated and have a cardioversion, but my heart went back to normal sinus rhythm for a few moments. I was put on bisoprolol 2.5 mg and flecainide 50mg up to 4 daily when symptoms are worse. Usually I get away with having 1 or 2 flecainide but on the odd occasion I do have 3 or 4. I'm waiting for a consultation to come through for further investigation. I am a couple of stone overweight and I feel weight loss will help, but waiting for my plantar facisitis to be treated (undergoing shockwave therapy) so hopefully in 6 weeks I'll be able to exercise at home. I felt great after the first day on meds, but although I don't have a racing heart beat now, I have heavy beats and chest feels heavy. I'm at low risk of stroke. Any advice?

I’ve had AF and Atrial flutter for over twenty years - once you as on meds to treat it you are at low risk of having a stroke. Getting fit and losing weight also helps reduce the risk of stroke.
