Hallo everyone Has anyone experienced waking several times in the night with rapid heart rate and surging bp but this never happens during the day.I am 72 and otherwise pretty well.Would really love some advice as I am becoming very distressed and tired.

You should discuss it with your doctor and/or call the BHF Heart Helpline on 0300 330 3311 and talk to a cardiac nurse about it.
Yes, it's not nice in the wee small hours. In my case I think it was an adverse reaction to the drugs I was taking. My consultant is trying me out on various tablets to see which will help me best and you find out the hard way which ones are not for you. I would definitely discuss it with a health professional.
