So finally got loop recorder fitted on Thursday and what a surprisingly uneventful experience. 2 cardiac nurses did the whole procedure and I never felt a thing. Neither then or since. The scar is about a cm. they injected it in. Isn’t technology wonderful. The icing on the cake was no stitches. In and out in under an hour. Result. Many thanks to nurses for wonderful treatment as usual❤️

Loop recorder update
Yes a very quick and easy procedure. However, if you need to have a pacemaker fitted and are given the option of leaving the recorder in or having it taken out, I would say leave it where it is. I opted to have mine out at the same time as my pm was fitted and the bruising was horrendous and I also had terrible pains in the area where the recorder was extracted as the surgeon had to dig quite deep to take it out.
Oh dear. Hope it doesn’t come to that. I’m a bit of a pussy where pains concerned. I still can’t believe how easy it was. I changed dressing yesterday and it’s not even bruised. Well impressed. Hope your doing well with your pacemaker❤️shiona
Well you can’t feel anything when they put the pacemaker in, obviously it’s sore afterwards which is to be expected but mine seemed to take a bit longer than others that have posted on here but we’re all different. I think the uncertainty of it all effects me more than anything, however I’m sure I’ll get over that 🙂
