After peace of mind......

So approx a year ago i was due to fly to germany for work but had a chest pain which i mentioned to my employer who said i would need to be checked out due to employers law etc. So from then on it spiralled...... ECG, echo cardiogram, MRI scans, specialist meetings you name it i had it. Was offered a camera down my throat but as i suffer from medical enduced anxiety they said the MRI was sufficient. Was told in December that i had a hole in my heart and there from birth which they wanted to close by going up through my groin and a TOE. So after months of planning, counselling etc i went in was put to sleep only to wake up to be told the closure couldnt be done as the MRI didnt show the wall of the chambers were too thin to hold the device etc and it was likely that open heart bypass was my only option. I am now 3 weeks on and feel like i am living hell! This could not be any more of a worst cast scenario for me. Sleepless nights, increased chest pains which i am not sure are caused by anxiety or my dodgy ticker..... feel like i have wrapped myself in cotton wool isolated myself as no one seems to understand how i feel :( i am pressing the destruct button every weekend and living an unhealthy lifestyle. Not sure where to turn! The discharge sheet mentions that i am now being sent to adult congenital heart disease unit - does this mean they have found something worse? Is heart disease used to describe a number of conditions and not necessarily meaning i am doomed as i read it? Please help me i cannot cope!
