Chest pain

I've been having chest pain on and of for around 3 weeks. Sometimes it's more severe than others. When it is worse I get short of breath. The pain does pass and it does not happen every day. It is not indigestion. As I suffered with this in the past. It's not the same pain plus I am on medication for it. Any help?

What does the pain feel like, how long does it last, and where can you feel it?

The pain can go from dull achy to severe sharp pain in the chest. That's when I get the breathlessness. Like I said it's not constant but it has happened 4 or five times over the last 3 weeks. That's why I'm a little concerned.

Hello and welcome to the forum! I am bemused that you leave things for three weeks and then decide to do something at the start of the weekend! What was yours previous diagnosis and what medication are you on?

In the first instance you should ring 111 for advice. They may call you an ambulance but it is better to be taken to A&E than maybe suffer a cardiac event over the weekend. The breathlessness is a concern and may with the pain be a symptom of angina.

Nobody here can do remote diagnosis. Please call 111 and update us on how you get on.

You will have to go to the doctors to rule out anything serious. After I visited the docs after continuing chest pain, I feel better that I know what's happening, getting my head round my angina diagnosis, but for armed is better than sticking my head in the sand. Good luck.

Dear Key73,

It is very important that you get this checked out by your doctor. Make an urgent appointment to see them. If the chest pain comes back, do not hesitate to call 999 as I would recommend to someone experiencing chest pain without a known cause.

Take care,

Emily
