Night sweats after a heart attack about a month ago on the usual medication
Yes, a year and three quarters later. However, a recent piece of news has potentially changed things for myself; whilst complying with a request for a second fasting bloods it was mentioned by the nurse (not my GP!) that they were checking my thyroid function (no mention if hypo, or hyper) but some research, and everything seems to be ticking the box for an under active Thyroid, skin, and nail complaints, eyes, joint pain, night sweats (overall temperature instability) and apparently if left untreated for long enough, a heart attack. I was given a perfunctory diagnosis of Palmer Psoriasis over ten years ago.
Speaking personally, this would explain an awful lot with my circumstances, especially as, although I had a heart attack, I appear not to have CHD!
You discuss it with your doctor or call the BHF Heart Helpline on 0300 330 3311 and talk to a cardiac nurse about it.
For about the first 2 or 3 weeks post CABG I used to go into total melt down at completely random times. I never got fully to the bottom of it but I do know from asking people on this site, that I was not alone. Some of it will be the meds and some probably your body adjusting to the shock. You could try talking to your GP for the former and hope your body gets back to ‘normal’ quickly for the latter.
