Statin Headaches...

Anybody else get a monster headache after taking statins ?

Never had an issue with statins and headaches is not something I’ve read about as being a recognised problem. Are taking anything else

Yup. Ticagrelor, twice a day and ramipiril. Anybody else on a similar programme ?

Hi. Yep, I'm on both of those, tell your GP. He can change makes and doses. Mine did, particularly the Ramapril.

Ok. That was plan after the previous reply, thanks for the comment. Now to sit and wait in the surgery. Ah well...

Headaches are a documented side effect of Ticagrelor.

Yup, read that as well as the alarming, but very very rare, bleed on the brain.

Ramipril can affect Potassium levels and they should do a blood test for kidney function within two weeks. I had to stop taking rampiril even before blood test Re and back. Headaches and vision problems.

I'd just like to amend my earlier comment, headache is a recognised side effect of statins. That was news to me, but having looked again at your meds, I see Ramipril also has headache listed as a side effect as does Ticagrelor. Looks like you are on a cocktail of meds all with headache listed as a potential side effect. Might be worth having a chat with your GP to see if there are other options for you - it might be as simple as changing the statin.
