Hi, yes mine. Just been to my 12 th rehab and we had done our relaxation etc so wasn't doing anything energetic and mine was 91, it came down to 78 so was able to leave.

I'm only on my 2nd class and they were waiting for it to come down to 71 and it was in high 80s in the end they let me go when it was 74 or I might have been there all day like you we'd been doing relaxation

I hope it’s okay to ask this. Were you very active before surgery? If you had been fairly active prior to the surgery, your body may have been used to a workout pattern. If you are trying to get in shape and rework after new heart situation, you may be pushing too much and have to back off a bit. I would talk talk to your physician.

Yes I was very active before my HA so cardio rehab feels easy the cardio nurses don't seem concerned but I keep thinking are they saying don't worry so as not to worry me and make it worse I'm probably just overthinking things

Hi. Just finished my rehab and every week I was always the last one there, but I did push it to much while doing the exercises. They keep telling me not to worry and they were happy that I could talk normally so they would let me go as it never got down to the range they wanted..

It's more than likely due to 1. Adrenaline you produce when you exercise is still circulating and taking a bit of time to 'burn off'.

2. Your parasympathetic system is not yet trained... It slows you down more effectively when you are exercise trained!

It is quite normal to have anxiety at rehab classes - I finished my last hospital rehab yesterday and my heart never went above 100 - however on first week it went to 126 and there were concerns, but- and this is the real test - I could still hold a conversation. Had I been so short of breath that I could not speak, then I am doing too much and should slow down. I think to wait for a resting rate of 71 is a bit unusual - they were happy with me when i recovered to 80-83 but you don't say how old you are so cannot gauge the differences there may be between us. but like you I was fit before, it was the dreaded weed that caused my blockages. There is a formula to establish your upper heart rate for exercising since they only want you to be at 75 - 80% of the level. The figure is 220, less your age, and less another 30 if you are one a beta blocker - then 80% of that resulting figure. If you get out of the classes after wind down, you really have nothing to worry about. The person taking the class and from using the formula should have a lower and upper figure that dictates your range they like you to be within - ask them to tell you. But remember the longer you go to the classes (and make the appropriate effort) your heart rate will actually go down as the muscles of your heart grows stronger. Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply very helpful the rate they like me to be between is 92 and 106 and they very happy with my heartbeat during the exercises just doesn't want to come down although today even though I was last out by a long way it was sooner than last time I'm 51 years old
