Had a PM fitted at the end of April for SSS , still passing out being bounced from cardiologists to neurologists and am non the wiser. This week going for a tilt table test anyone want to tell me what they know about this?

I am really going to hurt myself some of these days.

Hi Sam I really feel your pain. I have pots and in the last month or so passing out is becoming more frequent and I like you can see a bad situation coming. My problem is that I seem to be getting ignored by hospital or it seems that way. When diagnosed about 6 weeks ago I was put on verapramil to lower my heart rate. I couldn't tolerate it and was changed to ivabradine. That was even worse. My contact with cardiologist is through the rehab nurses. I keep passing out in class. Short story is I was taken off ivabradine 3 wks ago and left without meds. I'm only on atorovastatin aspirin and clopidrogel. I have had a few really bad syncope episodes in the last few weeks. My go decided last Monday to admit me to hospital in order to see cardiologist. Went to admissions ward doctor decided to git me with 24 hr holster and bp monitor. I was then sent home without being admitted. Still haven't heard anything back despite being told I would get results that day. I don't know what else to do. My bp drops to my feet for no reason. Last night it was 34/23. Sorry for long post and it probably wasn't any good to you but just know your not alone. It seems to depend where you live what treatment you get. I'm thinking about calling PALS but it's not in my nature and probably won't do it but I don't know what else to do. Hang in there. We have to believe things will get better

Forgot bout the tilt table test. Don't worry about it. It's just being strapped to a table wired up to ecg monitor. They then tilt it up until your in an upright position and monitor you for as long as your vitals stay in the acceptable range or you get dizzy first. Piece of cake. If I can do it anyone can. Hope this helps

Not in your nature to call the Patient Advice and Liaison Service ? They exist to provide advice and help you to access NHS services. Unfortunately the NHS is a large bureaucracy that is under pressure and mistakes are made occasionally. You shouldn’t be embarrassed to seek the help of the PALS - they know their way around the System. Contact them tomorrow.

Has the PM tech checked its working ok. I have a pm for sss. Not passed out since. Take lots of deep breaths when you feel yourself going. Take care.

they now think I have neuro cardiac syncope, hence the passing out which continues and is hard to deal with
