Defibrillator fitted

After feeling really worried and anxious for six months whilst waiting for the procedure to have his defibrillator fitted, my husband, aged 69,had it done on Tuesday. He went to Hospital at 8:00 had the op. at 12:00 was Home for 16:00, watched the England match.... although had to go to bed when it went to penalties😀All in all it was so much simpler than we both expected. His wound is about 3inches, glued together really neatly, not covered with anything but got to be careful of infection. He was concerned about washing his hair, instructions were, “try to keep wound dry as possible just pat dry gently”. His left arm ached, not helped by his rheumatoid arthritis, but painkillers helped, only took them at bedtime last night. Hope this is helpful to anyone who is awaiting having this procedure. Will try to keep posting updates.

Good to hear it went as smoothly as I suggested.

Full recovery tales from a few days to a month depending on his history. He also needs to avoid heavy lifting for a month or so.
