cardioversion
Hi Anne.
The procedure is very straightforward. You would be given sedative and the cardioversion is not painful. It consists of giving you a small shock synchronised with your hearts own rhythm. This stops the heart allowing it to restart into a normal rhythm. If it is what your cardiologist has recommended I would give it a go.
Good luck Ron.
Hi Anne, I have had 4 Cardio versions and as mentioned below it is not too bad, I have been put to sleep each time and woke up in Ry them every time which has varied in how long I have lasted in Sinus Rythem, I'm only 39 and have suffered with this for 4 - 5 years and due another one in 2 weeks, it still scary but be rest assured your are in good hands and the best place if anything did go wrong which I'm sure it won't. Good Luck.
