A plant-based wholefood diet can reduce your cholesterol level as you would eat nothing that contains cholesterol. The only cholesterol you would be left with is what your liver makes itself.

As with Jimmyq: Wholefood plantbased diet halved my total cholesterol (TC) from 5.2 to 2.6 within 4 weeks. I switched my diet almost overnight due to the shock of a diagnosis of triple vessel disease on proactive testing. TC has stayed at or below 3 since then (over 2 years ago) due to a strict wholefood plantbased diet (WFPB). Before this I had tried 'cutting back' in my diet but these moderate changes had only ever brought it down to 4.6. Moderation is no good for established coronary artery disease because the disease is progressive. Do look up WFPB and good luck.

My consultant told me it takes 3 months before you see the affects of the medication or change of diet.

dietary changes are the best if you are serious about it, otherwise medication with all its attendant problems- a no-brainer really
