I suffer from palpitations but with a normal heartbeat of 60ish. I use Alivecor Kardia monitor to keep and eye on things. I had a funny turn whilst driving and came over dizzy too and felt like I was just going to go once and for all. I sent off for it to be reported on and below is the first page of the report. Are ventricular ectopics dangerous?
I welcome your advice:

Generally we on here are not qualified to answer about ectopic beats but if you look on the internet there are a number of learned articles which indicate that ectopic beats are quite common and not normally dangerous. Similar things have been posted by BHF nurses on this site as well. I say not normally because if you ‘had a funny turn’ whilst driving, I think I’d be very concerned (for the safety of everyone else as much as yourself). I think you should visit your GP about the ‘funny turn’.
The report you attached gives a snapshot ( I can assure you there aren't any ventricular ectopics on the image of the 'current event' seen, as they have a very particular waveform on a heart tracing). Many people have ventricular ectopics that are usually harmless. There are many triggers such as caffeine, as can being anxious so it can become a bit of a vicious circle!
However if you are having dizzy spells and feeling like you are going to black out, I would strongly suggest you attend A&E in the first instance. Your GP/ cardiologist may want to do other hospital based tests that they can interpret and act on accordingly.
Thank you for your reply. I have only just started having them recently following a stent being fitted and they are scary.
I will definitely be seeking medical advice on this especially with the driving episode.

Hi,
I am late joining as i just got my Kardia. I never saw an OverRead report as they are not available here. Interesting to see and I am trying to get my Cardiologist to sign up if available here.
