hi there i have just been told i have a enlarged aorta i am still waiting on treatment ifeel so scared and can not sleep what can i do help.

I know that this going to sound obvious but ‘relax’. Or at least try to relax. It’s a big shock and it will take time to come to terms with it all, but stress is not good. Talk to friends, family etc - they may not have a clue what you are on about but just talking can really help, whatever you do, don’t bottle things up. Try and think positively - if you were in need of immediate and critical treatment you would not have been sent home. So you have a serious condition but no so critical you need treatment today. Keep in touch with your GP. Steer clear of alcohol, stop smoking (if you do smoke), lose weight if you have it to lose, healthy diet - all will help now and in your recovery later.
