I have been taking bisoprolol 5mg for approx. 7 months now after two events of tachycardia. Recently, I have been having some strange symptoms - numbness in my arms at night (mainly my right arm), tingling in my face, some muddled speech and brain fog. I am very scared by the symptoms and so as a long shot I wondered if they could be caused by the medication. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this, as I do suffer from health anxiety and my partner tends to dismiss everything as 'imagined'. However, these symptoms are definitely not imagined and are very scary

There is nothing on the side effects profile to suggest bisoprolol will cause numbness etc but it can be associated with joint pain, so maybe there is something there. I rate cases it may lead to confusion (brain fog), so again it’s a possibility. In any event, the advice is the same I.e. go and see your GP, soon!
Hi I am on the same medication as you I am on 10mg I had a few side effects but not as many as you but I think they take a long time to kick in and I have now been on them for a long time and at the moment only get a few flutters now and again and I have found that I can get out of them by rubbing the vagus in the side of my neck or take a very deep breath and hold and it just clicks back to normal
Hi. I get a lot of brain fog and light headedness which is due to a low b.p. not helped by beta blockers and ramipril. I stopped bisoprolol with the help of my heart nurse but was put onto carvedilol by the consultant as he felt a beta blocker important for my HF. I have been much better on this.
