Awaiting a cardioversion......

Hi, am awaiting a cardioversion,could be a 2-3 month wait and taking rivaroxaban,just wondered how long I'll need to take it after the procedure.I thought it was 6 weeks,pharmacist said 6 months!Any advice appreciated Thanks

Hi Twinks1964,

It does actually vary from person to person- both answers you were given are feasible! It depends on what heart rhythm you are having the cardioversion for and whether it reverts to normal afterwards. I expect you will have a follow up appointment with your cardiologist soon after,and they will be able to decide from there.
