Hi all, has anyone here had bypass at golden jubilee hospital in Glasgow. I saw surgeon prof al attar in October in clinic, had pre op assessment the same day and was told op would be in 9 weeks time. I still have no date and my query is
1 will I need another pre op as it is now well over 12 weeks and
2 I had to go back this week for a chest/abdomen ct but no one told me why this extra test?
Any advice would be welcome.

As I said in my other post I have no personal experience of the hospital but it has many excellent Goggle reviews. A CT scan and or echocardiogram are often done where stents/bypass has been decided on by the consultant to make sure there are no there issues. No single test covers all areas; e.g. arteries, valves, heart muscle, etc. I had to have another pre-op five years ago as the operation was postponed and then kicked in extending it to over three months - I imagine this is what happened in your case.
Hi and thanks for replying. I was hoping it would all be over by now and the wait is making me more anxious but I do appreciate that there may be people who are worse than me and need surgery urgently. Hopefully all is good with tests and op can go ahead with as much info as possible.
