Hi all. Hope everyone is doing ok. Felt great over Christmas more like myself but I think I have probably overdone things and it is now catching up with me. Just wondered what others did to get energy back.

Hi Kaz58 Happy New Year

I did exactly the same put all my energy into Xmas and paid for it during the following days.

I have Cranio Sacral therapy which seems to give me a kick start of energy. Other than that listening to my body meditation sleeping and eating well. I’ve been very short tempered recently with my loved ones not sure why perhaps pressure of Xmas or just recovery not sure. All that I have mentioned has helped recover and get my energy back and stopped me being an old grouch!

Hope you start to get your energy back soon.

Take care

Lisa x

I find it v tempting to do too much, like you, and only know about if afterwards. Glad you had a good time over Christmas. We had lovely walks, chats, meals, friends etc etc. I’m not sure how you can judge that it’s too much, at the time, especially when it must be great to feel like your old self.

I had to take nearly a full day out, resting, doing nothing at all, to get back my energy. However, I had missed a hint. One walk was particularly exhausting, and I was told afterwards it’s well known locally as Coronary Hill!

Hi Kaz. I definitely overdid things over Christmas too, though more in terms of eating and drinking than in terms of exercise, so really no excuse and no possible hidden virtues. Regretting it now, but feeling excited about the new year and getting back into good habits.

Whenever my mojo needs a kick start, I make to-do lists. I keep the tasks achievable, vary them according to how I feel, and get great pleasure from ticking the items off. This always gives my motivation a boost.

All the best for 2018 x

Hi everyone. Thanks for your replies. I suppose it's all trial and error until we learn what's best for us. Has anybody tried Tai chi I really need to start some sort of exercise and have read it is really good for balance and joints.( I have osteoporosis as well as HF so thought this might be a good exercise for me) hope everyone had a good Christmas and wishing you all the best for 2018.

I did tai chi for a short time in my younger days and loved it. The older people in the class (who had been going for some time) put my sister and I to shame with their balance and coordination, so it must have good health benefits! Good luck with it x

Hope I do better with it than I did when I did keep fit exercises years ago. When everyone was going left with their right hand in the air I was going right and working out which hand I was supposed to put in the air. Totally useless.
