I have been told I have single vessel disease but doctor says it angina. I do not have any pains just shortness of breath when exercising or walking up incline or stairs.does this mean I do have angina or not

Who told you that you have single vessel disease - was it a cardiologist? It sounds like you may have a narrowed artery. Symptoms vary from person to person and typically are angina/shortness of breath but in some cases a heart attack is the first symptom. A friend who needed a triple bypass had no symptoms but an irregularity was picked up in a company medical. If the diagnosis is from your GP alone ask to be referred to a cardiologist!

Angina is a symptom of what’s happening, when your heart can’t get enough oxygen like when you walk uphill, and you get breathless. They reason they gave you is ‘single vessel disease’. I’m not sure what they mean by this, so do ask for an explaination. Hopefully it’s just one vessel or artery involved. Hope so, but you need the expert explaination.

My solution at your stage, was to use smaller steps and walk slower up stairs or uphill, never rush at it. Use a spray, if you’ve been given one. But always seek explaination. I’ve found Drs very happy to explain things, and I do better knowing what’s going on.

It means one artery is blocked to what percentage I don't know, but ask as the extent of the bloxage depends what treatment you will receive and what changes you need to aid your condition I.e diet, exercise weight loss and meds.
