Quite an interesting radio show about heart health and alcohol here - bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09794sg The bit about the heart starts 19 minutes in.
There was also a piece on cancer treatments and their impact on the heart a couple of weeks ago, again towards the end of the show - bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0952qqh
Happy listening

And 20 minutes in on this one is a feature on heart failure and iron - bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07x2zpb Haven't listened to this one yet, but am just about to. This year I've been taking part in the IronMan trial (more info here: bhf.org.uk/news-from-the-bh... ) and receiving intravenous iron supplements when my iron dips below a certain level. So far I've only had one infusion but I felt fantastic for a good long while afterwards, my symptoms lessened and I had much more energy. That was when I dug up and replanted my whole garden - ha! (I say "garden", it's a tiny strip of shared ground in the couple of metres between the pavement and our building.) I'm hoping my iron levels will be low enough for another infusion when I go back in December so I can do a turbo-charged Christmas this year! But in all seriousness, it will be amazing if iron supplements are introduced across the board in due course. Who'd have thought something so simple and old-school could potentially help so much? Right, off to listen to the show
