Popped to GP, result as expected.

I had a mixed weekend, I managed to get out both days to do things which was great BUT both days I suffered a lot of thumps/jolts/skips which restricted my mobility doing those things quite a bit. I've had this now 13 weeks to varying degrees but recently it's worsened again which is frustrating. I saw a cardiologist 5 weeks ago who wanted to do an emergency Echo and 24hr ECG but they lost the paperwork twice it seems so it's taken 5 weeks for the appointments to finally arrive... except I've got to wait another 2 weeks for those to actually happen.. 7 weeks for an emergency set of tests for a recent bypass patient! Can't say I'm happy or impressed!

Anyway, I went to my GP this morning after yet another tricky weekend to discuss my situation. My HR hit a new low last night at 47 and my BP was 99/70 first thing this morning, also a new low since the bypass. Of course he wouldn't do anything which I guess I expected as they won't simply alter medication without sufficient tests to provide direction. I expect the Echo will be fine and the 24hr ECG will show plenty of PVCs or Ectopics which they won't necessarily be concerned about although it's affecting the quality of my day to day life. All they can really do is adjust medications or swap to another I guess but I'm happy to do that if it stops the skips and thumps! I just am likely to have to wait best part of 3 to 4 weeks again before I get any change that might help my ongoing symptoms.

Lately I'm finding that they are triggered by all sorts, positional, yawning, deep breathing, jolts to my chest whilst walking trigger them and even simply sitting here typing this I've had a bunch. It's the painful jolts that do me in, not the less powerful fluttery ones although they can cause me to feel lightheaded. The GP said this morning that irregular heart beat issues is fairly common after bypass surgery, which is probably true but it doesn't really make me feel any better or stop mine happening.

Anyway, that's my Monday morning rant... I can't wait to feel half normal again.

Hi Ccwh,

It just isn't getting any better for you, now with the mislaid paperwork. Yup irregular heartbeats are reasonably common but not to the extent you are having, by now I would have expected a resting HR of around 62-66 area and a reasonably steady beat. Not 49 that is ridiculous no wonder you feel light headed.

How was the rehab? did this bring on any irregular beats?
