Heart stabbing twinges

I'm only 26 and I have got heart twinges every time I wake up and sometimes in the night what is this

Hi Becki,

Sorry to hear you are a bit worried & confussed right now.

Believe it or not, it could be acid reflux. It can give you twinges on the left side making it feel as if it is the heart. I know, because I get it myself. But I also know what it is like to have a heart attack. Therefore I understand the confusion & fear.

It could also be anxiety.

Anxiety can also give you symptoms of twinges & pain in your heart. Along with palpations, heavy breathing & insomnia.

But at the end of the day, I can only advice on my own experience or what the guys have shared on hear.

So my suggestion is, write everything down as & when it happens.

What you have eaten in that 24 hours,

What you were doing at the time.

If you was awake or woken from a sleep.

If you have been a bit stressed at work or home lately.

If you have witnessed or suffered trauma recently.

Or maybe something from the past has reserfist from the past & you've been thinking about it alot.

Maybe get an MOT from Gp.

Blood sugars

Thyroid

Vitamin D levels etc

I'm not a doctor, you're not a doctor, so don't allow yourself to get stressed & sursurmise what you think it is.

Agree with Jo, the best way to set your mind at rest is to see your GP. Could well be nothing, but you'll only keep worrying if you don't get it checked out. Best of luck

It's easy to say 'don't panic' about it, but you are pretty young to be worried about heart disease. People with problems at your age tend to have known conditions which are picked up from a young age. Go see your GP.
