Hi Chris & Jo from BHF, Good morning to you.

I have a silly one here, as I have only just noticed?

It may be something, it may be nothing.

Bit personal, but hayho....

I was in the shower last week, went to shave under arms. Have had many showers since by the way, hahaaa..

Anyway, being quite lucky in the unwanted hair department, I don't need to shave much. So this could be a case that this thing I have just noticed, has been there all along since my bypass.

I found that the area in my left arm pit was really quite puffy, possibly swollen, but with know uncomfortable feeling as such.

I noticed it more as it was a little odd trying to see if I did indeed need to shave that area.

I have an appointment with consultant 11th September.

Now I don't mind enquiring on here in our little support club. However, I really don't want to look and feel like a dope in the presence of the consultant.

The thing is, I have had what can be quite bad muscle pain in the upper left arm since the opparathion. So wondered if it is a possible conection.

I wouldn't say this swelling in tge left armpit is poticually uncomfortable now I have noticed it's there. In fact it almost looks & feels like fluid.

So what do you think? Should I mention it, or should I just leave it?

Thanks in advance, J 😕

Hello - if you'd like to tag someone in a post you can start with the @ symbol and then start typing their username. This then alerts the person that they've been tagged :) but don't worry we patrol the forums every day anyway!

Back to your question - this doesn't sound like something to worry too much about, but do mention it at your consultant appointment anyway. Sometimes after surgery because of all the trauma to the chest area you can have aches, pains, swellings and tenderness for some time afterwards as the muscles and nerves start to heal.

Take care,

Chris

Thanks Chris, just I hate having to add stuff. As I want the consultant to concintrate on the issue I was sent for. It's been nine months since opp you see.

Thanks for that, didn't want to sound like a hypa, if you know what I mean.

Yes lol, I thought that following tag was to see if you wanted to follow someone, D

Hahaaa tgat did make me laugh skid112, ha, mine was just normal shaving. Like I said though, I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't need to worry often in that department.

It was just this swelling thing coukd hace been there ages for all I knew, but I only noticed last week.

I thought like Chris said, it's probs all part of the opp side affects. Not painful or anything, so all good.....☺
