It depends on which tests were done and where you had them done.

The commonly performed STI tests take a maximum of 10 working days to come back so if you haven't heard by then give the clinic where you got tested a ring.

A lot of places operate a "no news is good news" policy.

Dear jacksonsoa, Many clinics use test systems that use 'multiplex' machines that can process different samples simultaneously. The turnaround time is, therefore, shorter and many clients would expect to be informed within 5-7 working days- usually with a text message. Clinics also have access to HIV point-of-care (POC) tests for certain clinical situations and these results can be available within 15 mins.

Some results take far longer (3-4 weeks), especially when samples have to be sent to a reference lab for additional analysis.
