The OGTT is done when you're between 24 and 28 weeks pregnant.
I had this test done in my first pregnancy even though my BMI was under 35 .
This pregnancy I start with BMI 35.
I’m over 40 years old with BMI 35 so I been proscribed 150mg aspirin to be taking from week 13 every evening till I’m 36 weeks to prevent blood clotting and Pre-eclampsia.
I haven’t been told yet that I’m gonna have that glucose again but is only blood test taking then u drink sugary drink (like lucozade ) wait 1h or 2h and take blood again .
Is not big thing hun ...but it u need to do it u need to do it xx
I’ve had the glucose test with this pregnancy because of my ethnicity apparently more prone to GD. Other criteria is not age as I’m 41 I asked that it’s weight if your over 30bmi at the start of your pregnancy which I wasn’t either and I think if there’s history of prev g/diabetes etc.
They take a sample of blood then you drink a surgery drink then sit for 2 hrs then they take blood again then u go home the midwife will give u the results unless the hospital rings u.
Olivia I have to take aspirin aswel for preeclampsia even tho I’ve no history of it because of age my consultant said it only 17% affective but could help.
