Feeling ok with your diagnosis?

I’m a 40 year old autistic woman, I have two autistic sons and possibly an autistic daughter (going through the diagnosis process now).

I’m a geologist with a full time job, and a pretty happy life, despite or maybe because of my autism.

My diagnosis made me more relaxed in many ways because I knew why I needed or disliked certain things. It also felt like I had permission to be interested in the things I’m interested in.

Hope this is the kind of info your we’re after.

Hi Clairlo thanks for your message !

I am ok with the diagnosis just wish it had been earlier, but now I have answers to many things about me and my family are all ok about it , it answers their questions too . I work one day a week as a volunteer for citizens advice and have been with them for about two years it has been one great decision and it helped me cope better with people and overcome some of my self doubts . I am more positive since the diagnosis even started to like myself better and accept this is who I am like me or not so thanks for your reply clairlo
