Just got back from the conference where I joined up health unlocked. My wife, Ann has unspecified Ataxia.

Hello !

We sat in adjacent seats at one of the sessions.

I was a bit apprehensive about going to the conference, it was my first

time and I don't have any contact with fellow Ataxians. What struck me

most of all was how relaxed and welcoming the atmosphere was.

Although at one point I felt overwhelmed by 'technical information' !

Overall, I was left with the need to do something constructive. It took

us about six hours to drive down to Stansted (boring to say the least).

The journey back seemed to fly by as we discussed the weekend.

This is my second conference. I went last year to Leicester and really enjoyed it. There is a gang of us go from the North Yorkshire friendship support group who meet in York. I expect you may have picked us out, (very noisy). I have been trying to write my next blog using speech recognition. It is good but my computer has a mind of its own and writes all the wrong things so I have gone back to two fingered typing. I picked up another member last year and we travelled from Driffield, East Yorkshire. I was OK till we could not find the hotel and we missed the junction on the way back. I came home to Ripon on auto pilot should not have done so much disco the night before.

This year despite our adventures I feel more refreshed. The magician was good and I liked the new technology as well.

Hi Wireyal!

The magician was good, we were sat at the front, my husband was following

his moves closely but couldn't detect how things were done! I particularly

enjoyed the mushroom soup and pannacotta!

How did you put your map on the site?

Hi Alan

A map will come up if you add your postcode to the relevant part of 'profile'. This can be accessed by hovering the cursor over your name in the top right hand corner of the screen and clicking on 'profile'. The map but not your postcode will be visible by other members.
