Hi Paul,

Definitely have a similar issue but I contracted CDIF whilst in neuro rehab for 4 months. I did have this issue before though and I was told to cut out gluten as I had TGM6 antibodies. Long story pal.

Apart from that I hope you are doing well.

I'm the opposite. I have chronic constipation and need to take a few laxatives on a daily basis. It can however on occasions go from one extreme to the other.

I really battle with severe constipation & have to resort to medication, & drink LOTS of water throughout the day. As if we don’t have enough to battle with 🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

I empathise fully. I drink lots of fluids too and still need laxitives😟

Thanks Stagger and all who sent advice on this fantastic subject. One thing for sure ataxia has no sympathy as you can’t win regardless of what road you take 😵‍💫

Have a great Christmas all and maybe quantum computing may come up with a cure for next year.

Stay strong all.

Hi, have you tried a gluten-free diet? It has to be 100% though and can take up to 6 months. Not a good time to try gluten-free just before Christmas.I had ibs all my life with c and d, tried lots of things, FODMAPDIET etc. Turns out it was gluten , now have gluten ataxia and really strict with my diet. The ataxia has stabilised. Be aware of ultra processed food too down the free from aisle if you decide to give it a try.

It is possible to have a hereditary ataxia and be gluten sensitive too. It's complicated but only you can decide if it is worth trying gluten free.

Best wishes.
