Does anyone experience feelings of small electric shocks and creeping in certain areas of body. Had it in arms, legs and neck. Think it's probably nerves but it's really troublesome, any suggestions?

Creepy crawly feeling
Hi I've had that unsettling crawling sensation on my face. Twice I've
experienced 'electric shock' shooting pains in my head. I don't take any
medication other than a low dose anti depressant. :-)xB
It's horrible today, been in my head three days now and can't sleep with it!
Hi Penny, this does sound like something like a neuropathy. You do need to get this checked out but the good news is there are medicines that can really help with this, so go to your GP. I was getting neuropathic foot pain and had EMG studies done which I thought would be scary but I didnt feel anything!

What do emg studies involve? It usually goes of it's own accord after 4 or 5 days, but it's really intense ŵhen I have it.
I get that feeling in my fingers, like little shooting electric shocks. Its really uncomfortable so know how your feeling!!
Wow. I thought I was my imaginatino. Now I know I'm not alone withthis
No John, you're not alone. Basically we're all in the same boat xB
I've never menyioned it to the Neuroloogist or my doctor, thought it was all in my mind and I was just cuckoo or something
Nice to know I'm not alone
I have little shooting pains from time to time in legs, arms and hands. Never mentioned it to doc either, just assumed it was nerves playing up. The worst is sometimes feel like someone is digging needles into me, and that really hurts! I've discovered that, like most symptoms, sleep is the best way to stop it. I take alprozolam so that I sleep soundly when this happens otherwise is too uncomfortable to sleep.
We all seem to have these weird things...........
Hi pennypoop
This does sound like it could be pain due to peripheral nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) and I would advise mentioning it to your doctor. EMG and nerve conduction studies measure the electrical activity in your nerves and muscles. It is used to diagnose peripheral neuropathy and if you are shown to have this, certain medications may be helpful to you.
Best Wishes
Harriet
Yes it's still horrible thou and just something else to put up with
