Hi

Good news! Thanks for letting us know

You mentioned that mepolizumab cannot treat certain types of asthma and reslizumab - can. What is the diferrence ? Will there be separate waiting lists for mepolizumab and reslizumab ?

Who wil be eligible - will there be same criteria as for mepolizumab?

Hi Polzovatel

Mepolizumab is the first biologic treatment to target immune cells called eosinophils. These cells are responsible for symptoms in thousands of asthma patients.

Different treatments will be effective for some people but not for others, so your Consultant will try different treatments and see how you respond. Have a chat with your healthcare team about the waiting list. I think it depend from area to area.

Hope that helps,

Dita

Hi lejaya

We're doing lots of work in the coming year for people with sever asthma and we're looking to fund research that affects people with non-eosinophils asthma. I'll keep you posted on what's coming next, it's slightly watch this space at the moment.

Thanks,

Dita
