Susy’s excellent Poem thread has proven to be very successful, and certainly very evocative. This new thread takes that wonderful thread and shares the composition between many. This SUPPLEMENTS the POEM thread – they must co-exist and grow TOGETHER.

Here is how this one works:-

• One person writes one verse.

• The first verse determines the maximum verse size for all the following in that poem.

• The MAXIMUM verse size will, in any case, be 6 lines.

• There is no minimum verse size.

• Someone else has to write the following verse.

• On adding a verse, the person that adds it can declare it the last verse of the current poem and then give the title name for the next poem.

• Having given the title, that person can either start the new poem, or leave it to another to start.

To get this under way, the first shared poem, using a 4-line verse, is called

UNDER THE SKY

Under the sky is the air that I breathe

Sometimes there's lots. Sometimes there's not.

Under the sky is the one that I love

Sometimes we kiss, Always we miss.

Under the Sky

I Like this thread Alan, so as you see...here it's a very quick second verse so please forgive ... Hopefully the ones that follow will Excel. So come on all would be Poets!

Under the sky is the air that I breathe

Sometimes there's lots. Sometimes there's not.

Under the sky is the one that I love

Sometimes we kiss, Always we miss.

Under the sky be it by day or by night

We dream of sharing the heavens above

The moon, the sun, the clouds and stars

We breathe in together, We breathe in the same air

Under the sky, we know we’re not far

From the from the left hand that’s there to go with the right

Arms that are reaching from South until North

Keep doing their job – in place all through the night.

Under the sky, we’re really quite frail

Where ever we come from, whether East or the West

We all need each other, to find the trail

To a more perfect world, where we’re at our best.

Supposed nail, poison and the rock

The Sahara, Artic and Pacific

Own up. Who needs them when we’re REALLY sick?

(Answers) Games without frontiers, judgment without tears

This is the last verse. Next title...

""Oh Happy Days""

(Excellent idea Alan)

Oh Happy Days

thank you for the tittle Mia -

""Oh Happy Days""

Oh Happy Days; When as children we played

When nothing could stop us and the world was a maze

Happy, mischievous, shy or afraid

Adventurous games of those happy days

That gave us the bedrock for the games of today

Oh Happy Days

Oh Happy Days; When as children we played

When nothing could stop us and the world was a maze

Happy, mischievous, shy or afraid

Adventurous games of those happy days

That gave us the bedrock for the games of today

Oh Happy Days; When kisses were uncomplicated

We made friends, not war. We played hard, not fought.

School dinners were all that we hated

Writing and grammer was wot we was tort

Learning to speak, learning to listen, learning to love

Oh Happy Days

Where are all the AUK would be poets hiding... come... join in!

We made friends, not war. We played hard, not fought.

School dinners were all that we hated

Writing and grammer was wot we was tort

Learning to speak, learning to listen, learning to love

Oh happy days: when as teens, we would dance and we chased

When trying to fit in, some smoked their first cigarettes

Or wore far too much make up, or very short skirts

Oh happy days, when passing exams was the worst kind of stress

Parting all night and being in love were the best things in life

Carefree happy days, when we danced and we chased

Oh happy days: Thumbelina triumphed

gainst all odds, a tiny smile in combats!

A flower empowered fist in boxing gloves.

Did battle. Created sparks. Laughed and laughed.

(Trusted the swallow though)

Danced… oh so Sheba provocatably.

Hid and fenced gainst all unclear. A winner
