My daughter is 3. She has a diagnosis of 'severe brittle asthma' and 'adrenal insufficiency'.
She's on a daily dose of maintenance pred as well as nebulised Budesonide and a whole host of other things.
Since going on the daily Pred, her daily symptoms have improved alot. She is able to play whereas 6mths ago, this was impossible without becoming breathless
The only thing is, I wonder what control we are aiming for? Should she never have symptoms while on daily pred or should we expect some still?
She's struggling at the moment with occasional breathlessness, coughing like mad, occasional wheeze. BUT no recession.
If her meds are increased or changed, what's more effective than pred?!

hey, im probably not going to be much help at all, but I just thought I would let you know that I am also on budesonide nebs, and I got told that I would still have a few symptoms as the nebs themselves can cause bronchospasms, so this could be whats causing the symptoms.

my asma is only mild so I DONT KNOW WHAT SHE IS GOING THOUGH bu befor I saw a doctor icould not breath properley but he said you can grow into asma as well as you can grow out of it so I think she'll be fine
Fernlh you should check out the kick asthma forum. I noticed you've recently been diagnosed and you're 10 so it may be useful to talk to people your age. =)
